This Powerspark ignition system replaces the points and condenser in the Magneti Marelli two Cyl distributor as fitted to Fiat vehicles, and others. It is a 2 piece kit, suitable for left hand points sets.

Powerspark Electronic Ignition explained in more detail:
The kit uses a simple magnetic trigger and optimises dwell to provide a reliable and consistent spark across the rev range. It is easy to install and maintenance free.
Each kit comprises a baseplate with electronic module, trigger ring and all wiring. The new electronic baseplate mounts exactly where the points and condenser baseplate sat. The kit connects directly to the coil using the wires provided, red to the positive side and black to the negative side. The ignition kit will automatically shut down if the ignition is left switched on without the engine running to prevent component damage.
Powerspark Electronic Ignition Kits are designed to work with a coil resistance above 1.5 ohms, typically 3.0 ohms. Some performance coils operate at a lower resistance and will need the High Energy electronic ignition kit.

It was so damn easy to install this ignition kit for may old Fiat 500 throughout the process from removing the distributor cap and a few parts inside to putting the wires on and finally refitting the cap again. It took me only 15 minutes, but could have been shorter if I didn't replace the ignition coil at the same time. I don't have complaints so far since the kit has made my Cinquecento run so smooth and freed me of the problematic contact breaker adjustments. One thing I would like to say is: although the magnet rotor ring has no fixing means, it sits in place thanks to the magnetic force. However, I wonder if it stays there without securing, as the vibration from the shaky car's poor suspension and the two-cylinder engine badly shakes. Worried, I put a tie wrap band just above the rotor but I don't know it will help or stand the heat and centrifugal force. I would have been happier if just a heat-proof O-ring or something to fit the rotor axle was provided in the kit. Though I give 5 star rating now, I still must see how long the kit lasts; my main concern is heat, but so far so good, though.
I have bought many of this for Fiat 126P, with excellent results. Product fit perfectly in the original distributors, Magneti Marelli and ZELMOT from Poland. Pay attention to coil resistance that should be higher than 1.5 ohms. Silicone resistive spark plug wires are mandatory. Seller answered any question I made. I am very pleased with this product.
Installation was reasonably straightforward, but a better set of instructions would have helped and is my only negative comment (hence only 4 and not 5 stars) about this product. Once installed, this has proved to be a brilliant mod. The nature of the Fiat 500/126 engine is that it shakes so much that old style points seem to need resetting every few weeks. Since installing this kit though, it’s been a “fit and forget” item. Plus performance is so much better and my little engine now has torque! I can easily pull away in second gear which was never an option before.
The kit should have taken all of 5 minutes to install, if the instruction included a few pictures. That would have made me gives this 5 stars. Once you figure out how to install it from the text-based instructions, everything fits well and works well.
