Rover V8 Distributor for Rover V8 Engines Pre 1976 (replaces Lucas 35D V8)
This Powerspark 35D V8 Distributor is a direct replacement for the Lucas 35D or 35DLM8 V8 Distributor. We offer this for all types of Rover V8 engine, see below for details.
It is a brand new casting complete and pre-fitted with Powerspark Electronic Ignition for 'plug and play' fitment.
Comes complete with a Powermax rotor arm, improved over the original by using a moulded design instead of a rivet.
The Lucas 35D V8 was used for many years in vehicles that used the Rover V8 engine. Your Rover V8 engine is either classed as early or late, which dictates which drive gear the distributor utilises

As many engines have been swapped or have been converted to the later front cover, it is not always easy to identify whether a Rover V8 is early or late.

About Points, Electronic and High Energy Distributors from Powerspark Ignition:
Traditional Points Distributors:
The traditional ignition system used in most cars up until the 1980s.
- To be used with a Standard or Sports ignition coil, resistance reading above 1.4 ohms. OK to use copper HT Leads.
Sports Electronic Ignition Distributors:
Looks like an original points distributor but contains an electronic ignition module that uses a magnetic pickup instead of contact breaker points.
- To be used with a Standard or Sports ignition coil, resistance reading above 1.4 ohms. Not suitable for use with copper HT Leads
High Energy Electronic Ignition Distributors:
Looks like an original points distributor but contains an electronic ignition module capable of 3x the spark of sports electronic ignition.
- To be used with a High Energy ignition coil, resistance reading below 1.4 ohms. Not suitable for use with copper HT Leads

Can not tell the difference between the old and the new distributor and seems the same build quilaity as the lucas it replaced the extra earth was most welcome as this is an important issue thanks powerspark
